About Me
Moses Znaimer is a Canadian media icon and innovator internationally recognized for his tireless quest to inform, enrich and engage our collective spirits. It is well known that Moses dramatically transformed the aesthetics, the politics, and the economics of television. In the 1970s, 80s and 90s, his groundbreaking concepts such as Speaker's Corner, Videography, Televised Diversity, and the Streetfront/Studioless operating system, were at the core of the over 20 popular and independent Stations and Channels he co-founded and executive produced, including Citytv, Bravo! - Canada's NewsStyleArtsChannel, SPACE: The Imagination Station, CablePulse24, Star!, FashionTelevision, Book Television, SexTV, Canadian Learning Television, not to mention MuchMusic and MusiquePlus, which served to define a generation of Canadian youth in both official languages. Moses' legacy extends throughout the broadcast world with ventures and licenses in Argentina, Columbia, Finland, and Spain. To permanently commemorate his visionary contribution to Toronto's urban landscape, the City of Toronto designated the famous downtown stretch of Queen Street West from John to Duncan – MOSES ZNAIMER WAY.

Once inspired by youth for youth, Moses is now defining A New Vision Of Aging for the 14.5 million Canadians 45plus and is creating a media and advocacy empire to serve this growing and dominant population segment which he calls Zoomers – derived from Boomers With Zip!

In December 2007, Moses became the Executive Director of CARP. With approximately 350,000 members 45plus, CARP is Canada's largest and most powerful association for Zoomer Advocacy, Benefits and Community. Moses also became the President and CEO of ZoomerMedia Ltd. (TSX Venture: ZUM) which publishes ZOOMER magazine, Canada's newest lifestyle magazine for men and women 45plus, and produces the ZoomerShow, a two-day consumer show and lifestyle expo featuring the latest information, products and services for Zoomers. ZoomerMedia also operates a suite of e-newsletters and websites including www.CARP.ca, the social networking site www.zoomers.ca, and www.50Plus.com, the authoritative Zoomer content supplier to Yahoo! Canada, MSN Sympatico and LavalifePrime. In addition, Moses is the proprietor of English Canada's only commercial all-classical radio stations, The New Classical 96.3 FM & 103.1 FM as well as The New AM740 Zoomer Radio. For 10 years, Moses has been the Executive Producer and Presenter of Toronto's prestigious annual ideaCity Conference, and in 2008, introduced the first CARP Conference, featuring cutting-edge ideas on aging, longevity and life extension.

Moses is President/Executive Producer of MZTV P&D, a boutique independent television production and distribution company; and founder of the MZTV Museum housing his collection of vintage television sets, arguably the largest in the world, encompassing 70 years of North American visual devices and associated popular culture, some 10,000 objects in all. His rare sets have appeared at Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum, the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa/Hull, the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies in Banff, and most recently at the Cinémathèque québécoise in Montreal.

In 2008, Moses was named one of the Top 10 Media Moguls of the past 100 years by Marketing Magazine. His multiple honours include The Urban Alliance on Race Relations Diversity Award, The Human Rights Centre Gold Medal and the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews Human Relations Award for his outstanding promotion of tolerance and a multicultural, multiracial and multilifestyle Canada; the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal; the Republic of France's Chevalier de L'ordre des Arts et des Lettres; the Jane Jacobs Lifetime Achievement Award; and the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award, a special Juno Award recognizing Moses' outstanding contribution to the growth and advancement of the Canadian music industry.

Zoomer Thoughts

"Zoomers are a growing, vibrant and affluent community. They look at the world with optimism; they are engaged and aspire to enrich their lives and their communities”. -MOSES ZNAIMER

Hanging Out @ Fashion Week 09

Found myself @ the Joe fresh presentation, part of Fashion Week for spring/summer 2010. Amid all the striving and pretension of a high fashion industry trying to root itself in Canada's unglamorous soil, it was refreshing to see clothes characterized by optimism and fun. Joe Mimran is to be congratulated for creating a line of People's fashion @ price points that are hard to believe. Many pieces were in the 20/30/40 dollar range, and nothing, except a sheer blazer for men that caught my eye, exc… Continue

Discovering the Zoomers.ca web site and learning about the term “Zoomers”, has as many things in my life come about seemingly coincidentally. Actually I had set out yesterday afternoon to find a friend from university days at UWO, Richard Hennessey, who I believe may be your Production Manager. He was a good friend I have lost touch with who was most influential in the mid-1960s in convincing me to go to university.

However, in connecting with Zoomers.ca, it immediately struck a chord with my own life and beliefs and I felt I should join. Thanks for accepting me as a member.

I am going to a dog show on Monday in Barrie. My girlfriend has 17 Golden retrievers and they are just beautiful dogs. She brings a least 4 of them to every show. I love the dog shows.
I hope that you have a very nice long weekend
Sincerely,
Marlene

Much appreciation for all you have accomplished, and thanks kindly for Zoomers. (I'm a Zoomer now!) MazelTov on your acquisition of VisionTV, looking forward to the potential of your MZ-style enhancement.
When I was young(er), my family and I would serve you at Luigi's Trattoria (S.E. corner of Yonge & Church/Davenport).
I hope to one day meet you again and possibly work with you and your team of talent.
Best wishes & good health,
jennifer

Loved the Zoomer Show. Felt the same way I did in University when my whole universe was filled with my contemporaries and no challenge was unattainable.
Thanks, C. Huggins

My New Year wish for all you is that you may have a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing. Always want but never need. Let go of your attachments to what you've been trained to believe. Our attachments are the source of all our problems, the need to be right, to possess someone or something, to win at all costs. If we aren't attached to the outcome there is no failure only inner peace and success. Don't let your happiness or success be dependent on an attachment to any thing, any place and especially any person. Happiness is not something we receive from the world it is something we give to the world, so get out there and start giving.

On behalf of my family and myself I would like to wish you a Happy New Year filled with lots of fun, hugs, excitement, mystery, adventure, success, love and lack of attachment.
