Daffy, if you're referring to my yellow helmet, it's my bike helmet. Even though I have a thick skull (typical man, after all!), I need a thick, heavy helmet to protect the few, pathetic brain cells I have left!! LOL.

I've been lurking, Daffy. I post when I find something funny to post. But I am reading this funny stuff. And, Blair, having a senior moment is a daily (even minute-by-minute) occurence. It can't be happening this early in life - I'm only 65!!

I do not use audio books, for the same reasons you mentioned. I like to be able to read what I'm reading, and listening to audio books would cause my mind to wander and I would just fall asleep which would defeat the purpose of having the audio book…

Hi, I seem to be more than one category- the "prepster', the "UH", & "Mr. Right". Maybe some "passionista" as well. I was taught once that "Normal is just a setting on a washing machine", so I definitely am not a Maytag. I d believe that this sor…

Tink: In a way, I do date myself. After all, I live alone, cook alone, do errands alone, take my Saturday walks alone, ride my bike alone, etc. I lile me. I'm a good person, and I enjoy being with me. But it would be awfully nice to be with a woman,…

Kids Unique View of Science, Part 2 A vibration is a motion that can't make up its mind which way it wants to go. Most books now say that the sun is a star. But it still knows how to change back into a sun in the daytime. Lime is a green-tasting…

I don't know any book publishers off the top of my head, but Dorrance is a subsidy publisher in the U.S., if you're looking for that sort of company. They offer options them doing the marketing, self-publishing, visiting bookstores on scheduled date…

Welcome, Janice, and other newcomers. You haven't been here long enough to screw up yet. And, yes, the Zoomers might just mention it if you do. :)

Religious Belief
Christian - Protestant (Baptist)
Activities
Biking, walking, boating (not currently), model railroading (not currently), church. No car, so my feet and my bike carry me on my errands. I also take my tractor to the store if I have a heavy load to carry.
Interests
Reading (currently, Swiss Family Robinson), videos. Would like to try oil painting (landscapes, mostly, like Dave Ross did). I like mystery stories (and Sherlock Holmes, etc), humor books (Erma Bombeck, etc). I was writing a humor book and a spy novel, but that computer went insane on me, so I have to rewrite the books.
Favourite Music
I'm a songwriter, specializing in Southern Gospel. Favorite singers are Misty Freeman, Carroll Roberson, and Mark Bishop. I love to write love songs for my partners.
Favourite TV Shows
Mythbusters. Loved the Red Green show. Rick Steves travel shows are nice.
Favourite Movies
My favorites are comedies, romantic comedies, or mysteries. etc, Have watched "The Green Mile", but that's awfully intense for me. "Fried Green Tomatos" was good. No horror movies for me, please. Occasional thrillers are the most I can tolerate. Not into fantasy stuff, but Narnia was good!
Favourite Books
The Cat Who series, by Lillian Jackson Braun
About Me
Very humorous, loving, kind, sweet, loyal. Love women immensely, and I'm always looking for opportunities to be supportive to women. I'm looking for friends and, ultimately, a long-term relationship that
will lead to marriage, if at all possible. I can be happy married or single, but prefer to be married.

Lowell, let's be friends, 'k? Our interests are almost simular. I enjoy boating (not currently), but was involved with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary (volunteer) for 20 years. Retired Dec 2008. Love reading & writing mysteries. Got 2 currently in the works, 3 somewhat done. Not looking publishing, just keeping the cobwebs out of the brain. My favourite is Agatha Christie. Sherlock Holmes is great too. Do you belong to Netflix? If not, gotta join, cause for 9 bucks a month you can watch as many Sherlock Holmes movies they got. That includes as many DVDs. My account is for 19 bucks and with that I watch as many as I want on my PC & get 3 DVDs. With Netflix around, most of our video stores are going out of business. God! it's amazing how much we got in common, that even includes the movies. Do like the 'classic' horror movies. Dracula's the favourite. Romantic comedies are ok, but give me a reall good belly laugh, crying, comedy any day. As for fantasy, not into them either. Action & Adventure, Mystery, & even an occassion war movies. Love TCM. Recorded over 300 videos with about 3 movies on each and have an abundance of DVD;s. Also belong to Columbia House. The best value with them is getting box sets. One favourite comedy is Police Academy, which I got all 7. Just picked up, the entire MASH series, which includes the original 1970 movie. 36 discs in all. Took me 4 weeks (that's watching everyday) to got thru the entire collection. Also, enjoy British comedies. My 2 favourites are Are You Being Served? & Keeping Up With Appearances. Just got in from work, so having a Blue and Errol Flynn is calling. Good night, Lowell. Chat later, bud.

...to Zoomers and to the Laugh Out Loud group. Thank you for joining. I hope we'll add some giggles to your day.
I also hope you'll get back to your writing - and don't forget - back up your work.
Cheers, Annette
