Where in England are you from? My mothers grandfather is from Cambridgeshire and her grandmother is from Leeds. Her father was from Kent or Essex [not sure] as he was a home child and came here when he was 10 years old.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. No parent should have to bear such a loss.
Tragities are so hard to overcome. I never lost a child but then I never had much luck keeping a husband either. Mine left us when my girls were in their teens. Couldn't handle family committments I guess. I lived with someone after that but that turned out to be an even bigger mistake. He left with everything I owned and took up with someone younger. So as my favourite saying goes "You have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again" which is exactly what I did at 55 and now I really am quite content. Time does make a difference. So keep your chin up and go with the flow.

Thanks Leona, good to meet you too. I went to England in 2006, my first trip alone. I was born in England, moved to Canada with my family in 1956, and hadn't been back there for 50 years. I had a wonderful time staying with my Aunt and Uncle meeting cousins etc. I went for six weeks, and felt I had really overcome my grief journey. Unfortunately I came back in September with severe jet lag and bronchitis, it took several weeks to get over that, and I was into October. On Oct. 27th my youngest son was tragically killed in a car accident on Vancouver Island, so I had him shipped home to Kelowna, and he is buried just 12 places down from his Dad. Another difficult journey to get through. I would love to go back to England again next year, God willing, and finances allow. You will have a wonderful time, and we can talk before you go.
