About Me
Alexander Stone (Age 23, Leo), is a Hitch-Hikin' Song-Writin' Guitar Slinger from Wasaga Beach, Canada, and has a passion and raw untouchable talent for Rock & Roll music unlike any other artists of today. His goal is to make true Canadian Rock & Roll songs that capture the hearts of music lovers across the nation and perhaps the world. With his Good-Vibration sound, and hard-work, he hopes to find himself playing his blend of original good hearted music, travelling to even the most remote of towns in Canada as a band, by 2010. A Good Quality Demo is currently being prepared...

Music is such a Beautiful and Unique expression of the Human Spirit. It really is the Ancient Language. Music existed long before words ever did. I feel that it's Music that I draw on to be Re-Enegized. If a new song makes Me feel better, than maybe it will also make You feel better. And so I became a songwriter, a few years after really getting to know my guitar.

I Grew up listening to AM Radio on every car ride with my Folks. My Mum is from Liverpool, England, so I grew up with the British Invasion. My father is an East Coaster, who grew up as a French-Canadian, and it was from him that I learned my rhythm, as he was always tapping on local objects, making hip jazz and swing beats. I myself started tinkering with any musical object I could find, starting from the early age of 4.

In Highschool, after going through a Very Brief period of listening to Hip Hop and Old Metal, I began to revert back to the Good Vibrations Rock & Roll Music of the 50's, 60's, and 70's. It was then I really started to understand the Art of Songwriting.

Progressive Rock was a big turning point on my playing, and although I still Love a simple Ballad, I found my own groove of mixing the Ballad with a Progressive Rock Twist.

By late high-school, my search for new Progressive Rock Music got a bit boring, but luckily I had really dicovered that Many of the Things I had been playing over the years was Raw Blues and Boogie Woogie. So I became a Blues Man.

After playing at many Bar Jams, Blues started to become repetitive, and so I brought it back to the Good Vibrations Music that has a Timeless place in my Heart.

The past few years after the break-up of my old band of 5 Years 'The Dawns', I've been hitch-hiking across Canada, busking, jamming, writing, and perfecting my sound, while trying to find Dedicated Musicians to play the Unique Blend of Rock & Roll that has come to be my trademark sound.

I currently lack the funding to record any of the the 15-25 songs that I have perfected and polished, and so I'm recording at home for the time being, and looking for work to fund a Professional Album.

Though I have over 100 professional shows under my belt, I haven't played a real gig in almost a year. As of March, I will be playing again in the Local Area, likely as far as Toronto. I'm concentrating on gathering a Fan Base here in the Georgian Triangle, before I move on to the Big Show, possibly Memphis.

Welcome to Zoomers. I really enjoyed reading your profile and wish you much success in your endeavours.
Yes, nothing beats the good vibrations sounds.....hope you make it to Memphsis one day. Have you tried out for Canadian Idol....you never know.
You should join some of the music discussion groups on this site....you never know you might find a sponsor, or at least like-minded individuals who also remember the type of music you aspire to record. Good luck, and if you ever play in St. Catharines let me know. Regards, Liz

Good luck to you. Suggest you, creative people often have difficulty getting a handle on how to launch themselves and a lot of it is luck. So if you don't have a strong business side to you, find someone who can help you put together a realistic 'business plan' in order for you to realize your dreams. This means, where do I want to be in 5 years? What do I have to do to get there?- it sounds like you plan to gather a fan base in your area is a good start. Perhaps one of them can sponsor your demos. etc.
